Tiangong AI Search no longer exists as a search product: Kunlun has turned it into the 天工 SkyClaw office-agent workspace, closely tied to Skywork. As an agent workspace it is free to start and inexpensive to upgrade, but anyone seeking a dedicated Chinese AI search engine with academic and finance modes should look elsewhere. Useful for Chinese users wanting AI-made documents and slides; treat older reviews of the search engine as historical.
What we found
Tiangong AI Search (天工AI搜索) was Kunlun Tech's Chinese AI search engine, launched in August 2023 as an answer engine that summarised web results with citations. It no longer exists as a separate product. In May 2025 Kunlun folded Tiangong into its Skywork super-agent line, with tiangong.cn as the Chinese edition and skywork.ai as the international one, and today tiangong.cn opens on SkyClaw, an AI office agent that creates presentations, documents, spreadsheets, images and video, runs scheduled tasks and uses add-on skills and expert agents. The old search address now leads to the same workspace, the term "Tiangong AI Search" no longer appears anywhere on the site, and the original app has been renamed simply 天工 and described as an all-in-one AI workspace, with no search, academic or finance mode listed. A SkyClaw model with a context of a million tokens was added in May 2026. We found no formal shutdown notice; the search product was absorbed rather than closed.
Tiangong is run by Beijing Kunlun Tech (昆仑万维), a listed Chinese internet company whose AI businesses — led by AI short dramas — passed $800 million in annual recurring revenue in mid-2026, according to 36Kr; that figure is not specific to Tiangong. A separate Skywork entry in this directory covers the international product.
The service is free to download and use, with paid memberships sold in the app rather than on a public price page. The Chinese App Store lists a Basic membership at ¥45 a month on auto-renewal or ¥48 for a month, Tiangong Plus at ¥85 and Ultra at ¥188, and credit packs from ¥48 for 10,000 credits to ¥200 for 50,000; the app does not state the billing period for Plus and Ultra, and newer site code suggests credits are being phased out.
The app rates 4.66 from 8,242 ratings in China. Readers looking for the original AI search engine should note it now lives on only as part of the Tiangong and Skywork agent workspace.
