Msty Studio is a desktop workspace for chatting with local and hosted models in one window. It is made by CloudStack, LLC, whose privacy policy says it collects no product analytics, usage telemetry or crash reports and keeps session data on the user's device. Installers cover Apple Silicon and Intel Macs, Windows 10 and 11, and Linux.
On the local side, Studio manages three inference engines, Ollama, llama.cpp and MLX, from a single Local Models area. It searches the Ollama registry and Hugging Face, imports GGUF and MLX files, and on Apple Silicon generally recommends MLX. On the hosted side, the documentation lists 13 providers, including OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Groq, OpenRouter and xAI, plus any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Split Chats runs models side by side on the same prompt, Knowledge Stacks covers retrieval over your own files, and Agent Mode handles multi-step, tool-using tasks.
Since 31 July 2025 the desktop app has had a free tier that needs no account. The terms limit it to personal, non-commercial use, though, and several features are capped. Commercial use needs Aurum, at $149 per user a year or $349 once for Aurum Lifetime; either covers two desktop devices and adds Studio Web, Azure and Bedrock providers and power-user features. Enterprise licences start at five seats, priced on request. Earlier versions of this page quoted a per-seat enterprise price that Msty does not publish.
The pace is fast. Version 2.9.11 shipped on 15 September 2026, and a 3.0 beta reached its fifteenth build on 7 October. Msty has also widened into a product family: Go, formerly Claw, an agent tool in free beta, plus Nexus and an upcoming Stack.
