Granola remains the most polished bot-free notetaker: nothing joins the call, and your shorthand is expanded with transcript context into notes people actually reread. Since July 2026 it covers Android as well as macOS, Windows, iPhone and Apple Watch, and it tags speakers for Meet, Zoom and Teams.
The free Basic plan shows only 30 days of history; unlimited history, integrations, API access and follow-up emails sit on Business at $14 per user a month, with SSO and workspace-wide controls on Enterprise at $35. Check two defaults before rolling it out, share links and model training, and handle recording consent under PDPA or GDPR yourself.
What we found
Granola is a meeting notepad that never sends a bot into the call. The desktop app for macOS and Windows picks up your computer's audio during Zoom, Meet, Teams or any other meeting, passes it to a transcription provider, deletes the audio afterwards, and merges the transcript with whatever shorthand you typed into structured notes. iPhone and Apple Watch apps were joined on 1 July 2026 by an Android app, though Android captures in-person conversations only; phone-call capture remains an iPhone feature.
Chris Pedregal and Sam Stephenson run the company, Granola, Inc., with a UK affiliate, Granola Labs Ltd., in London, and the product launched in May 2024. In March 2026 it raised a $125 million Series C led by Index Ventures, with Kleiner Perkins participating, at a $1.5 billion valuation, six times the $250 million of its May 2025 round. Granola names Vanta, Gusto, Asana, Cursor and Mistral AI as customers. The same announcement added shared team spaces, a personal API and an enterprise API, a clear push toward company-wide meeting context.
Pricing follows that push. Basic is free but shows only the last 30 days of meeting history. Business, at $14 per user per month, unlocks unlimited history, integrations with Attio, Notion, HubSpot, Affinity and Zapier, API access, pre-meeting briefs and follow-up emails. Enterprise, at $35, adds SSO, SCIM provisioning, HIPAA-compliant workspaces and workspace-wide policies. Slack sharing and speaker tagging come with every plan.
Privacy needs a deliberate look. In April 2026 The Verge reported that notes were viewable by anyone with the link by default and that customers outside Enterprise had AI training switched on unless they opted out; both are settings you can change, and Enterprise customers are opted out by default. Other participants see nothing unless you turn on Granola's optional chat message or video watermark, so recording consent under PDPA or GDPR stays your responsibility. Named speakers depend on the Meet, Zoom or Teams desktop integrations, and there is no audio to replay.
