Bloks is no longer a general notetaker but a narrow tool for financial and insurance advisors that wants to replace CRM data entry: bot-free notes, self-updating client profiles, pre-meeting briefs and KYP paperwork drafted from the conversation. For a Canadian practice, SOC 2, PIPEDA and Canadian data residency are the selling points.
Check the currency toggle before comparing prices; the US rate is $69 a month annually or $89 monthly. The only public reviews predate the advisor pivot. Good fit for a North American advisory practice, little reason to choose it elsewhere.
What we found
Bloks has changed shape twice, and the reviews that exist describe an earlier version of it. It launched on Product Hunt as a person-centred notes and meeting app, was pitched in September 2024 as an AI assistant for venture and private-equity teams, and now sells itself as the Un-CRM for financial advisors: software that keeps client records current from meetings, calls and email.
The operator is Bloks, Inc., a Canadian company that says it was started in 2021 in Gatineau, Quebec, by Marc Gingras, Chadwick Carlson, Jean-Philippe Lespinasse and Rian Robertson. A US$1.5 million seed round closed in September 2024, led by Storytime Capital and Mistral Ventures, with the MaRS Investment Accelerator Fund taking part.
The current product takes notes from Teams, Zoom, Meet and Webex without a bot joining the call, records in-person meetings through its mobile app and accepts imported phone-call audio. From that it builds client profiles, pre-meeting briefs, tracked follow-ups and KYP and compliance documents, and it syncs with Salesforce, Wealthbox, Equisoft and Laylah. Bloks says it works in 80 languages and claims SOC 2 Type II certification, PIPEDA compliance and Canadian data residency.
Pricing is per seat, with a 14-day trial and no free plan. In US dollars the Advisor licence is $69 a month billed annually or $89 month to month, and the Assistant add-on is $59 or $79. Canadian-dollar prices are higher, and the FAQ's claim that both currencies cost the same does not match the pricing page. Earlier versions of this page quoted the Canadian annual rates as if they were US dollars and listed a free tier.
Product Hunt shows 4.9 from 15 reviews, all one to three years old and about the earlier product; single reviewers flagged weak non-English summaries and no phone capture, both of which the vendor says it has since fixed. Bloks names only Canadian and US compliance, so advisors in Southeast Asia would be buying outside its design target.
