Zia has become one of the most cost-effective ways to put AI agents into business software: building and running agents is free, Zoho-hosted models cover 30 million tokens a month before charging, and models run in Zoho's own data centres, which suits privacy-minded buyers. Zoho's Singapore regional base and Chennai headquarters make it a natural fit in Asia. The catch is that the most useful predictive CRM features still sit in the Enterprise and Ultimate editions. A strong choice for businesses already on Zoho; compare the agent features with Salesforce and HubSpot before switching for them alone.
What we found
Zia is the AI built into Zoho's business software, first introduced in Zoho CRM in 2017 and now spread across more than 60 Zoho apps. It comes in three parts. Zia Chat answers questions and drafts content inside apps such as CRM, Desk and Mail. Zia Skills are predictive features: in Zoho CRM, deal and lead predictions, anomaly detection on sales trends, best times to contact customers, reminders and a custom prediction builder, most of them only on the Enterprise and Ultimate editions. Zia Agents are the newest part: Zoho offers more than 100 prebuilt agents and Zia Agent Studio, a low-code builder for custom agents that can read email, draft replies and act across Zoho apps, plus an MCP server that connects ChatGPT or Claude to Zoho's APIs.
In July 2025 Zoho launched its own Zia LLM, trained from scratch on 128 Nvidia H100 GPUs in 1.3-billion, 2.6-billion and 7-billion-parameter sizes and run in Zoho's own data centres. Agents can also use Zoho-hosted open models from the Qwen and GLM families, or outside models such as OpenAI, Gemini and Claude with your own key.
Zoho Corporation began as AdventNet in New Jersey in 1996 and is now based in Chennai, India, with an Asia-Pacific headquarters in Singapore. Shailesh Kumar Davey is chief executive and co-founder Sridhar Vembu chief scientist; Zoho says it has more than 100 million users.
Building and running Zia Agents is free; you pay only for model use beyond the allowance. Zoho-hosted models are free up to 30 million tokens a month on the standard tier, then $1 per million, and the GLM 5 pro tier allows 20 million free, then $3 per million. Zoho CRM's predictive Zia features start with the Enterprise edition at $40 a user a month billed annually, or $50 monthly. In Zoho Desk, Zia comes with the Professional plan from $23 a user billed annually.
On G2, Zoho CRM rates 4.1 from 2,951 reviews; Zia's own listing, 4.0 from 27, reflects the older assistant.
