Perplexity Projects (formerly Spaces)

What we found

Perplexity Projects, called Spaces until July 2026, are persistent, shareable workspaces inside Perplexity's AI search and agent product. A Project gathers related search conversations, tasks run by Perplexity's Computer agent, uploaded files, custom instructions of up to 8,000 characters, connectors and skills in one place, so that research on a recurring topic or client keeps its context. Each Project can hold up to 5,000 files and 2.5GB, with files up to 100MB, the same on every plan, and there is no limit on how many Projects a user creates. Projects connect to more than 400 apps and data sources, including Google Drive, Notion, Linear, Snowflake and GitHub; a Slack or Teams channel can be bound to a Project; and Projects are private by default, with owner, editor and viewer roles and organisation-wide sharing. On the Max plan, a research-preview feature called Brain lets work continue across sessions. When Spaces became Projects, existing Spaces moved over automatically.

Spaces launched in October 2024 alongside Perplexity's internal-knowledge search; the Projects version followed on 30 July 2026. Perplexity AI, Inc. is based in San Francisco and says more than 50,000 organisations use Perplexity Enterprise. Enterprise customers should note that the older Organization File Repository was retired on 1 October 2026.

Projects are part of Perplexity's paid plans; the free plan is described as search only. Pro costs $20 a month, or $17 billed annually, with deep research, a choice of top models, document and app creation, bonus Computer credits and sharing with up to five contributors. Max costs $200 a month, or $167 annually, with the highest limits, frontier models and priority features. Enterprise Pro costs $40 per seat a month, or $400 a year, adding SSO, permissions, no training on company data and compliance certifications, and Enterprise Max costs $325 per seat a month with larger credit allowances, SCIM and audit logs.

We could not read independent review sites. Projects suit researchers and teams who return to the same topics and want Perplexity to remember the context.
