Moka is a mature Chinese ATS with a serious international push: an English product run from Singapore, AI screening that explains its scores, and AI first-round interviews in more than ten languages, with WhatsApp-based screening in at least one Southeast Asian retail deployment. It suits high-volume hiring, especially retail and multi-site teams already working across China and Southeast Asia.
The caution is evidence. The accuracy and time-to-hire figures are Moka's own, pricing is quote-only, and several claims once repeated about it, including market leadership and SOC 2, could not be found. Ask for a pilot on your own roles before signing.
What we found
Moka is a recruiting and HR software company from Beijing, operated in China by 北京希瑞亚斯科技有限公司 and set up in 2015, according to an Invest Hong Kong announcement. Its domestic line covers an applicant tracking system, Moka People for core HR, payroll and performance, and Moka Eva, an AI layer first shown at a Beijing launch in June 2023. The international business now calls itself Moka AI, formerly MokaHR. Its site, mokahr.io, is run by Alphastar Technology (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., lists offices in Singapore, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur, and sells an English-language recruiting product that Moka says launched in October 2023.
Moka Eva is now pitched as a recruiting agent. A June 2026 release says it sources and screens candidates, runs first-round AI interviews in more than ten languages, flags suspected cheating and returns scored reports with video, and that its screening agrees with human reviewers more than 92% of the time. An August 2026 release credits it with cutting per-store time-to-hire from 15.4 to 3.8 days at an unnamed coffee and tea chain with over 20,000 locations. These are Moka's own figures, and no outside test of them was found.
Several older claims did not survive checking. Nothing supports calling Moka China's biggest ATS, and no Hong Kong listing application could be found. The Chinese site lists CSA certification, an ISO certification and China's Level-3 protection scheme; the SOC 2 claim quoted here before appears on neither site, and neither does the 14-day sandbox, though the homepage offers 50 free AI screening credits.
The funding history is traceable. TechCrunch reported a Series B totalling 300 million yuan in 2020, the first part led by Hillhouse, and DealStreetAsia reported a USD 100 million Series C led by Tiger Global in November 2021. Customer counts vary, from more than 2,000 brands in 2024 to more than 3,000 companies now. No price is published; sales run through demos.
