Paradox is the leading conversational recruiting tool for hourly, high-volume hiring, with real results at large employers — including UOB and Singtel in Singapore — and now Workday's backing. Its 2025 McHire security lapse, a default password on a test account, is a reminder to audit any vendor holding applicant data, though Paradox says exposure was minimal. Pricing is unpublished and sold through Workday, and independent reviews are few. Strong for large frontline employers, especially Workday customers; small firms will find it more than they need.

Paradox makes conversational AI for high-volume hiring. Its assistant, Olivia, chats with candidates by text, web chat and messaging apps to answer questions, screen them against job requirements, schedule interviews and handle onboarding steps, and its Conversational ATS gives frontline employers an applicant-tracking system built around those conversations, with conversational career sites and a Candidate Experience Agent. It integrates with SAP SuccessFactors and other HR systems.
Workday agreed to buy Paradox in August 2025 and completed the deal on 1 October 2025; its annual report puts the purchase consideration at $1.1 billion, $1.0 billion of it in cash. Workday markets the product as Workday Paradox alongside HiredScore, while Paradox, founded in 2016 and based in Scottsdale, Arizona, still sells it on its own. Workday says Paradox has handled more than 189 million AI-assisted candidate conversations and can cut time-to-hire to as little as three and a half days; Chipotle reported a 75% reduction, from 12 days to four. Customers on Paradox's site include 7-Eleven, Chipotle, Wendy's, Medtronic and Nestlé. In Singapore, UOB says its assistant, Jonus, screens more than 5,000 applications a year and halved time-to-hire, and Singtel reports saving 5,000 hours of hiring administration. Paradox says it works in more than 100 languages; Workday's page says more than 30.
In 2025 security researchers Ian Carroll and Sam Curry found that an administrator account for McDonald's McHire site, run on Paradox, used the password "123456", and said up to 64 million applicant chat records were reachable. Paradox said only the researchers had viewed data, relating to five candidates, through a test account unused since 2019.
There is no published price; Paradox is sold through Workday and Paradox sales teams. On G2 it rates 4.5 from 94 reviews and on Capterra 4.0 from eight. It suits large employers hiring hourly staff at scale.
