Krea is one of the most pleasant places to iterate on images: the real-time canvas is still its best trick, Krea 2 gives it a house style model of its own, and one subscription reaches most of the leading video models without juggling accounts. Plugins for Photoshop, Premiere Pro and Blender make it fit existing workflows.
The catch is metering. Compute units disappear quickly on video, they do not roll over below Business, and the free plan carries no commercial licence. Trustpilot reviews are mixed. A strong pick for designers who want speed and choice; budget carefully if video is the main use.
What we found
Krea is a browser-based creative suite from Krea.ai, Inc. in San Francisco, started by Victor Perez and Diego Rodriguez. Its signature is real-time generation: the image redraws as you type or paint. Around that sit one balance of compute units and a long list of models, some Krea's own and many from other labs. The pricing page names Veo, Sora and Kling for video, and the site also lists Seedance, Nano Banana 2, Wan, Hailuo and GPT image models. There is upscaling to 22K through paid upscalers including Topaz, LoRA training on your own images, lipsync, text-to-3D, a node editor that turns workflows into shareable apps, an API, an MCP server, and plugins for Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve and Blender.
The bigger 2026 change is that Krea now trains its own image models. Krea 2, which the company calls its first foundation image model built from scratch, launched in May 2026 with style references and moodboards, and a faster Turbo version followed in June. The June technical report released the model weights under what Krea calls a permissive licence. Krea Agent, a chat interface that plans a job and runs it across models, now appears on every plan card on the pricing page, Free included; a September guide from Krea had limited it to Max and above.
Krea said in April 2025 that it had raised $83 million in total, with Bain Capital Ventures leading the Series B and Andreessen Horowitz the Series A. Its pricing page claims 40 million subscribers, a vendor figure with no outside check.
On Trustpilot, Krea showed 3.6 out of 5 from 167 reviews on 14 October 2026, on a profile the company has claimed and pays for. Basic costs $9 a month for 5,000 compute units, Pro $35 for 20,000 and Max $105 for 60,000, with lower rates on yearly billing, and units on those plans do not roll over. Business is $200 a month for a team of up to 50.
