Fathom records, transcribes and summarises Zoom, Google Meet and Teams calls, and its free plan still keeps recording, transcription and storage unlimited, with advanced summaries and the Ask Fathom assistant on the first five calls each month. Premium costs $20 a month ($16 annually), Team $19 per user ($15 annually) and Business, which adds CRM field sync and coaching scorecards, $34 per user ($25 annually).
A public API with TypeScript and Python SDKs, webhooks and an MCP connection now exists, and Mac users can record without a visible bot (beta). Data is stored in the US, and Fathom publishes no non-English accuracy figures, so ASEAN teams should test their language mix first.
What we found
Fathom is an AI notetaker from Fathom Video Inc. of San Francisco, started in 2020 and led by co-founder and chief executive Richard White. It records and transcribes Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams calls, writes a summary when the call ends, and lets you search, clip and share the recording. Since April 2026 its redesigned Mac desktop app can also capture meetings without a visible bot, in beta, and an iOS app arrived in October 2026.
The free plan is still why most people try it. Recordings, transcription and storage are unlimited, and in May 2026 Fathom made its General and Enhanced summary template available to free users too. The limits sit on the extras: since February 2025, not 2026 as this page earlier said, free accounts get Advanced AI Summaries and Ask Fathom, the meeting chat assistant, on their first five calls a month, and the pricing page marks both as limited use in the free column. AI follow-up emails and a custom bot name need a paid plan.
The pricing page lists Premium at $20 a month or $16 billed annually, Team at $19 per user ($15 annually, two-user minimum) and Business at $34 per user ($25 annually), which adds CRM field sync, Deal View and coaching scorecards. Enterprise is quoted by sales and adds SSO, SCIM provisioning, custom retention and a signed HIPAA agreement. The page attaches a 90-day guarantee to its plans.
Developers have more to work with than before. A public API with webhooks opened to all users in October 2025, with TypeScript and Python SDKs and an MCP connection for Claude and ChatGPT. All data is stored in the United States, and Fathom says it is SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA compliant.
Language coverage suits much of ASEAN on paper, with transcripts in 38 languages including Malay, Indonesian, Thai and Vietnamese, but Fathom publishes no accuracy figures, so test it on your own calls before rolling it out.
