6pen Art was one of the earlier homegrown Chinese text-to-image tools: native Chinese prompting, support for DiscoDiffusion, Stable Diffusion and the company's own smaller in-house model, and a genuinely useful CC0-style policy that let users commercialise output without a copyright fight. That made it a reasonable choice for casual and small-commercial work rather than a frontier model. As of this check, that product no longer exists under this name. The company announced on 25 March 2026 that the original 6pen Art service was shutting down, with user credits carried over to a rebrand called 6pen Pro at the same 6pen.art domain, and separately, the domain's SSL certificate is currently expired, so visitors hit a browser security warning before they see any of it. Don't send anyone here expecting the tool this entry originally described; it's been replaced.

Independent write-ups from 2022-2023 (Zhihu, assorted AI-tool directories) describe a workable but not class-leading generator: support for DiscoDiffusion and Stable Diffusion backends plus a self-developed smaller model, up to 4K output, and community features like curated showcases and contests. Its most distinctive policy was releasing all copyright on generated images to the creator (CC0-style), which several reviewers called out as more generous than rival platforms that keep a licence over outputs.
That product no longer exists as described. On 25 March 2026, 6pen announced it was ending the original 6pen Art service, with the front page now reading '6pen - 致谢与新篇章' ('6pen, thanks and a new chapter') and directing existing users' credit balances to a successor platform, 6pen Pro, hosted at the same domain. 6pen Pro is pitched as a broader, composable AI-tool workflow builder rather than a single text-to-image box, a meaningfully different product from what this entry originally described.
Practically, this creates two problems for anyone landing on this entry today: the tool being reviewed (6pen Art, simple text-to-image with CC0 output) is gone, and even the successor's homepage is hard to reach cleanly, because the domain's TLS certificate has expired, throwing a security warning in most browsers before the page loads at all. Repeated fetch attempts during this research hit 'certificate has expired' errors rather than serving content.
