Method & sources
How it computes
Composes a shareable image card from one of 75 source lines — any of the 36 stratagems (simplified and traditional Chinese, pinyin, literal gloss and gist) or one of 39 key lines, three from each of the 13 chapters of 孫子兵法 — in English, simplified Chinese, traditional Chinese, Malay or Indonesian, and exports it as a picture in your browser. The Chinese is the classical text; the translations are RECATOOLS' own.
What this tool implements
- Text is sized by display width — a Han character counts double a Latin letter — so a long Chinese line is stepped down before it can overflow the card.
- Every Chinese character the cards can produce has been checked against the bundled typeface, so no exported card carries a missing-glyph box.
- Art of War key lines are quoted from the received 13-chapter text; the 36 stratagem names and numbering follow the 1941 received text; English, Malay and Indonesian renderings are ours.
- Export is rendered in the browser; nothing you compose is uploaded.
