常見問題
- 族是直行;同一族的所有元素價電子數相同,化學性質相近。週期是橫列;同一週期的元素電子層數相同。元素週期表共有 18 個族和 7 個週期。
- 元素符號(H、O、Na、Fe)是 IUPAC 制定的國際標準,全球一致。名稱則譯成各種語言 — 英文 "Iron" 在中文是「鐵」,馬來語是 "Ferum",印尼語是 "Besi"。本表按你所選課程切換名稱,但保留標準符號。
- 詳情面板顯示該元素的原子序、IUPAC 標準原子量、類別(鹼金屬、鹵素、惰性氣體等)、族、週期、電子組態與常見氧化態。
- 這兩個系列(f 區)本應位於表格中部,但放在那裡會使表格過寬。按慣例,它們作為兩列單獨顯示在主表下方。

Method & sources
How it computes
Element data follows IUPAC. The subtlety most tables hide: for 14 elements the standard atomic weight is an INTERVAL, not a single number — hydrogen is [1.00784, 1.00811] — because the isotopic composition of normal terrestrial material varies with source. A single value for those elements is a convenience, and CIAAW publishes conventional values separately for when one is needed.
What this tool implements
- Atomic weights follow the CIAAW 2021 standard values. Where IUPAC publishes an interval, that is what the element has; a single figure is the conventional value, not the standard atomic weight.
- Element names and symbols follow IUPAC, including the four completing period 7 — nihonium, moscovium, tennessine and oganesson, approved in 2016.
- Group numbering is IUPAC 1-18, not the older CAS A/B system, which numbered the same columns differently on either side of the Atlantic.
- For elements with no stable isotope the mass number of the longest-lived isotope is shown in brackets, which is a different kind of quantity from a standard atomic weight and is labelled as such.

What can make this go out of date
- None at runtime. CIAAW revises atomic weights every two years; the table here is the 2021 set and its version is stated rather than assumed current.
