Qoder CN, called Tongyi Lingma (通义灵码) until 20 May 2026, is Alibaba's AI coding agent for mainland China, with an IDE, JetBrains plugin, CLI, desktop and mobile apps. It is sold in credits, from a free trial allowance to ¥59 a month for Pro and ¥99 a seat for teams. The international Qoder at qoder.com is a separate service.

Qoder CN is what Tongyi Lingma became on 20 May 2026: a credit-metered coding agent with Quest mode, Repo Wiki, sub-agents and a choice of Qwen, GLM and DeepSeek models, sold from ¥59 a month for individuals and ¥99 a seat for teams. The generous free tier that made Lingma popular is gone, replaced by a trial allowance, and the VS Code plugin is no longer developed.
It makes sense for teams in mainland China, especially those already on Alibaba Cloud. ASEAN developers should compare the international Qoder, which has its own accounts and pricing.
What we found
Tongyi Lingma (通义灵码) was Alibaba Cloud's AI coding assistant, unveiled at the Apsara Conference in Hangzhou on 31 October 2023 as an IDE plugin for completion, code explanation, unit tests and Q&A tuned to Alibaba Cloud SDKs. An Alibaba Cloud notice dated 8 May 2026 renamed it Qoder CN from 20 May, and it is now the mainland-China branch of Qoder, the agentic coding platform Alibaba launched internationally in August 2025. Qoder CN runs from qoder.com.cn under 通义云启（杭州）信息技术有限公司; the international Qoder is a separate service with its own accounts and prices.
The rename came with a new business model. Alibaba Cloud's billing page says the limited-time free Pro offer ended at 18:00 Beijing time on 20 May and credit pricing began at 23:00 that night. Earlier versions of this page described a permanently free individual edition with no agent cap; the old free tier in fact limited agent conversations to 50 a month, and the free plan is now a trial allowance with two weeks of Pro and 300 credits. Pro costs ¥59 a month for 2,000 credits, Pro+ ¥169 for 6,000 and a newer flagship plan ¥559 for 20,000, with 10% off yearly. Team seats are ¥99 a month, enterprise standard ¥149 from ten seats, and the dedicated VPC edition ¥199 from fifty. Since 20 June one personal subscription's credits work across the desktop app, JetBrains plugin, QoderWork, CLI and mobile.
It is now an agent workbench more than a plugin: Quest mode for longer autonomous tasks, Repo Wiki, an expert-team mode, skills and sub-agents, with GLM 5.1 and DeepSeek V4 offered beside Qwen once credits are on. One change matters to existing users: the billing page says the VS Code plugin has stopped evolving, steering VS Code users to the Qoder CN IDE.
Documentation and support are written for mainland China. Teams elsewhere in Asia should look at the international Qoder instead.
