Qoder
Alibaba's agentic coding platform with project-aware Agent and autonomous Quest modes
Overview
Qoder is an agentic coding platform from Alibaba, launched in public preview in 2025 as the international evolution of the Lingma assistant. It centres on 'context engineering' to understand a whole project's architecture, dependencies and patterns, and offers an Agent mode for conversational pair-programming and a Quest mode where it autonomously plans and delivers tested, production-ready code. It integrates frontier models including Claude, Gemini and GPT with cost-aware model scheduling.

ASEAN Perspective
Qoder in Southeast Asia
ASEAN-region availability and pricing notes coming soon. Drop the editorial team a note via /contact/ if you can supply local context (Singapore/Malaysia/Indonesia/Thailand/Vietnam).
Qoder is among the most internationally oriented Chinese coding tools: it ships an English-first site, integrates third-party frontier models, and competes directly with Cursor and Windsurf on autonomous, context-aware code generation. The Quest mode's specification-then-delegate workflow is a genuinely differentiated take on agentic development.
Because it was designed for global developers from launch, ASEAN readiness is comparatively good, and the free public preview lowers the trial barrier. The main caveat is that pricing and long-term model access are still maturing, and there is no developer-facing API for embedding Qoder itself.
