On top of Zoom, Meet and Teams transcription it adds sentiment, talk time and engagement highlights, then extends search across meetings, email and Slack; in 2026 it added Ada, an assistant that answers by email, and connectors for Claude and ChatGPT. The free plan covers five meetings a month; Pro removes the cap at $15 a user billed annually, and video playback sits in Enterprise from $22.50. The catch is the bot itself: it visibly joins calls and sends recaps, and the University of Washington and Chapman University have both blocked it from their Zoom and Teams accounts. Fine for sales or operations teams that want engagement measures alongside notes; check your organisation's recording-consent policy, and tell external guests, before turning it on.

Read AI joins Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams calls to transcribe and summarise them, and what sets its reports apart is the layer on top: participant reactions and sentiment through the meeting, talk time and other per-person measures, and highlights of the moments that drew the most engagement. The same assistant now searches across meetings, Gmail, Outlook, Teams and Slack, and a mobile capture app records in-person conversations. In February 2026 it launched Ada, an email-based digital twin that answers meeting requests and questions from company knowledge, open to all users; Read AI is also available as a Claude connector, a ChatGPT app and an MCP server.
Pricing is per user and unchanged this year. The free plan covers five meeting transcripts a month, meetings of up to an hour, summaries, search and basic integrations. Pro costs $15 a month billed annually, or $19.75 monthly, for unlimited transcripts, four-hour meetings and integrations such as Notion, Salesforce, HubSpot, Jira and Zapier. Enterprise, which Read AI labels its most popular plan, costs $22.50 annually or $29.75 monthly and adds audio and video playback and highlight reels. Enterprise+, for five or more seats, costs $29.75 or $39.75 and adds HIPAA compliance, SAML and SCIM, domain capture and custom retention. Zoom One customers on Pro, Business and Business Plus get Read's premium features free.
The friction is the bot. It joins calls visibly and sends recaps to participants, and some institutions have pushed back: the University of Washington blocked its integrations with university Zoom and Teams in January, and Chapman University prohibited Read AI and blocked it from both platforms in August 2025. Opinions split accordingly between buyers, who value the notes, and people recorded without being asked; we could not read G2 or Trustpilot today, so we quote no ratings.
The Seattle company was founded in 2021 by David Shim, formerly chief executive of Foursquare, with Robert Williams and Elliott Waldron. It has raised more than $81 million and says it has over five million monthly users. Check your organisation's recording-consent rules before switching it on.
