Lawhive is a law-firm group rather than software: regulated affiliates in England and Arizona do the work, with an in-house AI called Lawrence handling drafting, research and case admin, and lawyers in charge. The company says routine filings run almost autonomously under human review, while complex disputes stay lawyer-driven.
Funding and revenue are substantial, but the revenue and lawyer counts are the company's own. There is no API or self-serve product, UK pricing can be fixed or hourly, and coverage is the UK and parts of the US. Useful as a reference for the AI-assisted law-firm model, not something an ASEAN team can buy or integrate.
What we found
Lawhive is a UK-founded legal services business that handles routine consumer law through its own lawyers and its own software. The structure matters, and earlier versions of this page got it partly wrong. Lawhive Ltd, which takes enquiries on the UK site, says plainly that it is not a law firm; the legal work is done by its affiliate Lawhive Legal Ltd, authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. In September 2025 Lawhive bought Woodstock Legal Services, a Poole firm launched in 2014 that keeps its own brand. That added a second regulated firm; it did not give Lawhive its first licence. In the US, Lawhive Legal US, LLC holds an Arizona Supreme Court licence and co-counsels with local firms elsewhere.
The old tagline, AI-drafted and lawyer-signed, overstated the AI. Lawhive's assistant, Lawrence, drafts documents, does research and manages cases, and Legal Cheek reported in 2023 that it passed the SQE with 74%. But chief executive Pierre Proner told Legal Futures that the firm "will remain lawyer-led", and told Fortune that only routine filings such as an uncontested divorce run with "almost full autonomy" under human review, with the AI in a supporting role on complex disputes.
Pricing is quoted per matter. The UK site says fees may be fixed or hourly, contradicting the no-hourly-billing claim this page made before; its divorce page cites an uncontested no-fault divorce from £1,032 including the court fee. The US site sells flat fees.
The growth is well funded. A $60 million Series B led by Danaher co-founder Mitch Rales closed in February 2026, under a year after a $40 million Series A, and Proner told Fortune that annual revenue exceeded $35 million, up sevenfold, with about 500 lawyers across three regulated firms. Those figures are the company's own. In March 2026 it opened a New York office to buy US consumer law firms. Trustpilot could not be read today, so no rating is given.
