Globe Explorer is accessible from all ASEAN markets with no regional restrictions, and its top-traffic geographies (China and India combined represent over 26% of visits) confirm meaningful APAC uptake. However, the platform publishes no data-residency or privacy policy detail specific to Southeast Asia, which is a concern for users in Singapore, Indonesia, and the Philippines who are subject to PDPA, PDP Law, or Data Privacy Act obligations. What we found
Globe Explorer is no longer running. On 14 October 2026 its address, explorer.globe.engineer, refused secure connections, and the plain-HTTP version served a Namecheap parking page saying the domain registration had expired. The company domain, globe.engineer, shows the same page. No shutdown announcement, acquisition or new address could be found, so this page records what the product was and when it went dark.
Globe Explorer came from Globe Engineer, a small team whose company site appears in web archives from late 2023. The explorer itself went live in February 2024 and drew attention as a visual alternative to chat-style AI search. Instead of a list of links or a conversational answer, it turned a search term into a structured page: a hierarchy of subtopics running from an overview down to specific concepts, each with images and links out to sources. That made it useful for the first stage of learning something unfamiliar, sketching the shape of a topic before reading in depth, and less useful for precise or recent facts, which its generated pages could blur.
The decline is visible in the archive. By October 2025 globe.engineer was returning a gone status, and from December 2025 it showed a hosting error saying the deployment had been disabled for non-payment. The explorer page kept loading into mid-2026, but when we tested it from Singapore on 16 September 2026 searches returned nothing because the service behind them refused the connection. Less than a month later the domain itself had lapsed.
Earlier versions of this page quoted monthly traffic figures, review averages and a paid plan seen in the site's code; none could be traced to a reliable source and they have been removed.
