Framer remains one of the best tools for designers and marketing teams who want beautiful, fast websites without engineering help, and its new agents make AI edits far more practical than the old one-shot page generator. AI work now runs on credits, so heavy AI use adds cost, and the free plan is limited to non-commercial use. A strong choice for design-led teams; price out credits and editor seats for larger teams.

Framer is a visual website builder used mainly by designers, startups and marketing teams to design, publish and host production websites without code, with a built-in CMS, localisation, SEO controls, analytics, A/B testing and hosting. In June 2026 its 3.0 release replaced earlier AI tools such as Wireframer and Workshop with Framer Agents, which work inside a live project to build and edit pages, CMS content and SEO, and External Agents, which let developers use Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or Gemini CLI against a Framer site; branching with previews arrived the same day. AI work draws on credits included with every plan — a landing page takes roughly 300 — and agents running on a user's own Claude or OpenAI subscription do not use Framer credits.
Framer B.V. is based in Amsterdam and led by co-founder and chief executive Koen Bok, with co-founder Jorn van Dijk. It raised $100 million at a $2 billion valuation in August 2025, led by Meritech and Atomico, and said more than half a million people used it each month; named customers include Perplexity, Miro, Scale AI, Zapier and Mixpanel. Framer says Perplexity built its whole site with no developers, a customer claim it publishes.
The free plan, meant for non-commercial use, gives a Framer subdomain, 1GB of bandwidth, up to three editors and 500 AI credits to try agents, refreshed daily but capped below the Basic allowance. Basic costs $10 a month per site billed yearly, or $15 monthly, with 1,000 credits, two CMS collections, 30 pages, 50GB of bandwidth and a custom domain free on yearly billing. Pro costs $30 yearly or $45 monthly with 3,000 credits, ten collections, 150 pages, 100GB, staging, redirects and branching. Extra editors cost $20 a month and content editors $10; Enterprise adds SSO, SCIM and custom limits. The old Scale plan was retired.
