Model Studio is the most direct way to use Qwen models at scale, with a broad catalogue, OpenAI-compatible APIs, low per-token prices and a Singapore region with an English console. Batch and cache discounts make high-volume work cheaper still.
Read the conditions. The free quota covers only Singapore-region International-scope models for 90 days, knowledge-base search is billed separately, and the cheap Lite coding plan has been withdrawn, leaving Pro at $50 a month for interactive coding tools only.

Alibaba Cloud Model Studio, called 百炼 (Bailian) on Alibaba's China site, is Alibaba Cloud's platform for calling, tuning and building on large language models. It serves the full Qwen family alongside third-party models such as DeepSeek, GLM, Kimi and MiniMax, plus Wan video, speech and embedding models, through OpenAI-compatible APIs. The China product page counts more than a hundred models in total, Qwen included.
The international and China products differ in ways that matter. Internationally, prices are in US dollars per million tokens: in the Singapore region the cheapest text model, qwen3.7-flash, starts at $0.03 for input and $0.13 for output, qwen3.7-plus at $0.40 and $1.60, and qwen3.8-max at $2 and $6. Batch calls cost half the real-time price where supported, and cached input is billed at 10 per cent. The China site prices in yuan. Data is stored in the region you choose, from Beijing, Singapore, Tokyo, Frankfurt, Virginia or Hong Kong, and Alibaba says customer data is never used for training.
New users get a free quota, typically a million tokens per model for 90 days, but only for International-scope models in the Singapore region, only for real-time inference, and since September only after completing account details. A switch can stop the service when the quota runs out. Knowledge-base search is billed separately.
The cheap coding subscription that made Bailian popular with developers is gone. Alibaba stopped selling the Lite Coding Plan in March 2026; Pro remains at $50 a month internationally or ¥200 in China, covers six named models, and is for interactive coding tools, not scripts. In May 2026 Alibaba also opened QwenCloud, a separate front door with its own token plans, at its Qwen Conference in Singapore.
For teams in Southeast Asia, the Singapore region and English console make this a practical way to use Qwen. Read the free-quota conditions closely before relying on them.
