Airtable's AI is now simply part of the product: Omni builds working apps from a description without using credits, and Field Agents bring document analysis, web research and image generation into tables, metered by generous monthly credit allowances on paid plans. The old per-seat add-on is gone. The bigger question is ownership: Bending Spoons completed its purchase in September 2026, and Hyperagent, Airtable's agent product, left with a separate company. Still one of the strongest no-code database platforms; lock in pricing where you can and watch for changes under the new owner.
What we found
Airtable is a no-code platform for building databases and business apps, and its AI is now built in rather than sold as an add-on. Omni, its AI builder, creates complete apps — tables, interfaces and automations — from a description, and building with Omni uses no AI credits. Field Agents work inside tables to analyse documents, search the web, generate and edit images, translate content and pull insights from transcripts, and AI can also drive automations and research questions. Those actions draw on monthly AI credits, pooled across a workspace and expiring at the end of each month: a simple question costs about ten credits and analysing a ten-page contract about 200. The per-seat AI add-on ended in June 2025.
Ownership changed in September 2026. Bending Spoons, the Italian company behind Evernote, WeTransfer and Vimeo, agreed in August to buy Airtable at an enterprise value of $1.285 billion and completed the all-cash deal on 4 September. Before the sale Airtable reported about $480 million in annual recurring revenue and more than 500,000 customer organisations, including 80% of the Fortune 100. Hyperagent, the agent product Airtable had been developing, now belongs to a separate company, Hyperagent, Inc., and is no longer part of Airtable's plans.
The free plan allows up to five editors, 1,000 records per base, 100 automation runs and 500 AI credits per editor a month. Team costs $20 a seat a month billed annually, or $24 monthly, with 15,000 AI credits per paid user, 50,000 records per base and 25,000 automation runs. Business costs $45 billed annually, or $54 monthly, with 20,000 credits, SAML SSO, an admin panel and AI admin controls. Enterprise Scale is quoted. Extra credits start at $20 a month for 10,000, and Portals for outside users start at $120 a month for 15 guests.
Bending Spoons has not announced its plans for Airtable, so existing customers should watch for changes to plans and pricing.
