Custom Models and an AI Assistant arrived in public beta in 2026.

Firefly is the natural choice for anyone already in Creative Cloud: Generative Fill and other standard image features are unlimited on every paid plan, one credit pool covers Adobe's apps, and the model menu now includes Google, Runway, Kling and OpenAI alongside Adobe's own. Custom Models and the AI Assistant, both 2026 betas, push it toward production work.
Read the safety claim carefully: IP indemnification is for eligible enterprise customers, partner-model output is your responsibility, and premium credits run down fast on video. Standalone users are paying for integration and provenance more than for the best raw images.
What we found
Adobe Firefly started as a cautious image generator, released in public beta in March 2023, and is now Adobe's all-in-one creative AI studio. It generates and edits images, video, sound effects, speech and translated audio, and its generative credits are shared with Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Lightroom and Express. Adobe introduced Image Model 5 at MAX in October 2025, and by April 2026 counted more than 30 models in the app, its own alongside partner models such as Google's Nano Banana 2 and Veo 3.1, Runway Gen-4.5, Kling 3.0 and OpenAI's GPT Image 2.
Two 2026 additions matter. Custom Models, in public beta since March for all paid individual plans, let you train a model on your own images to hold a consistent style or character; Adobe says it does not train its own models on those uploads. Firefly AI Assistant, a public beta since 27 April, takes a request in plain words and runs multi-step work across Adobe's apps.
The commercial-safety pitch needs reading closely. Adobe says its Firefly models are trained on licensed and public-domain content, and its plans page offers IP indemnification only to eligible enterprise customers. It also says you are responsible for judging partner-model output. Bloomberg reported in April 2024 that some Adobe Stock training images were themselves AI-generated, some from Midjourney, which Adobe put at about 5%.
On Adobe's Singapore page, monthly plans run from S$13.39 for 2,000 credits (Standard) through S$26.79 (Pro, 4,000 credits plus Express Premium and Photoshop on web and mobile), S$67.00 (Pro Plus, 10,000) and S$268.14 (Premium, 50,000 with unlimited use of the Firefly Video Model). Standard image features such as Generative Fill are unlimited on every paid plan; video, audio and partner models draw on credits, which reset monthly and never roll over. A free plan gives a daily allowance. For Creative Cloud users it is the default; standalone buyers pay for integration and provenance.
