Beralih ke Bahasa Indonesia

这种格子图出自提姆·厄本(Tim Urban):他在 Wait But Why 发表的「Your Life in Weeks」(2014 年 5 月 7 日)画了 90 行、每行 52 格。
A grid of squares, 52 to a row and one row per year of life: weeks lived filled, this week marked, the rest open. Weeks lived are whole calendar days from your birth date to today’s date in Singapore, divided by seven; this week’s square is placed by weeks since your last birthday. The grid runs to a lifespan you choose (default 80: 4,160 squares, about 4,174 real weeks) or to your age plus remaining life expectancy from the Singapore or Malaysia 2025 life table. Nothing leaves the browser.
- The 80-year default is a round number, not a life expectancy. It is not a projection for you, for your country or for anyone; it is a legible default you are meant to change. The field accepts 40 to 120 years, to one decimal place, so an official figure such as 83.9 can be entered as published.
- A life expectancy at birth describes a newborn, so the page never applies one to an adult. The optional life-table setting uses the reader’s exact age plus the remaining expectancy e(x) at that age, interpolated linearly between the table’s ages, and refuses rather than guesses past a table’s open-ended last group (Malaysia 80 and over, Singapore 100 and over). Every figure it shows names its table, its release date and whether the year is preliminary or an estimate.
- Weeks lived, the grid and the age use one calendar. Age changes on the birthday itself (a 29 February birthday falls on 1 March in common years); weeks are counted from calendar dates, never from clock instants, so daylight saving and Singapore’s pre-1982 offsets cannot move the count; each row is one year and this week’s square is placed by the weeks since the last birthday, so the one or two spare days of each year fold into the row’s last square instead of drifting. Past the lifespan setting the true weeks lived are shown with how far past the grid they are — never a capped figure or “0 weeks ahead” as a fact.
- “Today” is the business date in Singapore, the same day the birth-date field’s upper limit uses; the page says so, because a reader far west of Singapore sees the count move some hours before their own midnight.
- Weeks, not days or years, because the whole point of the visualisation is that a life is a countable number of moderately-sized units and the count is smaller than people expect.
- The birth date never leaves the browser and is never persisted — not to the URL, not to localStorage, not to analytics. A date of birth is personal data and this tool treats it as such.

- The Singapore and Malaysia life tables are built into the page as published: SingStat 2025 (preliminary, published 3 Jun 2026) and DOSM 2025 (preliminary, released 30 Sep 2026). Both offices publish a new table every year and revise the one before — DOSM moved Malaysia’s 2024 figure from 75.2 to 74.9 in its 2025 release, and its 2025 figure from 75.3 (estimate) to 75.2 (preliminary) in its 2026 release. That release also carries a 2026 estimate; the page keeps the 2025 table so the Malaysia and Singapore options describe the same year. A new release reaches this page only when the embedded tables are updated; until then every figure the page shows names the release it comes from. The Singapore table is also what /retirement-calculator/ plans its drawdown horizon with (remaining life expectancy at the retirement age), so updating it here changes that tool’s figures too, and the figures its page quotes (21.6 more years at 65, to 86.6) must be re-checked in the same change.
- The WHO global figure quoted on the page (71.4 years, 2021) is the latest year in the Global Health Observatory series and changes when WHO publishes a later year.
- The date arithmetic itself has no data behind it.
