Zeta's numbers are real: 5 million-plus downloads, 4.1 stars across 59,000 App Store ratings, and — per Scatter Lab's own figures — 2.5 million users averaging over 12 hours a week, more than 90% of them teens and twenty-somethings. That's Character.AI-level engagement running on a homegrown Korean model (KOJI) rather than a licensed foreign LLM, which is genuinely rare for the region.
It's also currently in real trouble: six major Korean webtoon platforms (Kakao Entertainment, Ridi, Webtoon Entertainment among them) filed a police complaint in May 2026 accusing Scatter Lab of enabling copyright infringement through user-generated character art, and a March 2026 model update introduced a repetition bug users were still flagging in June.
