WPS AI is Kingsoft Office's AI layer for WPS Office: drafting, rewriting, formula writing, table analysis, slide generation, and summarising, translating and questioning long documents and PDFs. Kingsoft reported more than 80 million monthly domestic WPS AI users at the end of 2025, and 678 million monthly active devices for WPS Office worldwide. WPS AI brings drafting, slide generation, formula help and document Q&A into WPS Office, and at over 80 million monthly domestic users it is one of the most-used office-AI layers anywhere. Kingsoft is now putting its agent ambitions into a separate product, WPS Lingxi, whose Pro version can drive WPS's document engine and other tools.
Value depends on market. In China the AI sits in WPS 大会员 at ¥268 a year; internationally, Pro+ at US$69.99 a year includes AI tools with daily caps, and the feature set differs from the Chinese edition. Best for existing WPS users wanting built-in AI; less compelling as a reason to leave Microsoft 365.
What we found
WPS AI is the AI layer Kingsoft Office built into WPS Office, first shown in April 2023 and opened to all users in a public beta that November. It drafts and rewrites in the Writer app, writes formulas and analyses tables in Spreadsheets, generates slide decks, and summarises, translates and answers questions about long documents and PDFs.
By scale it is one of the largest office-AI deployments. Kingsoft's 2025 annual report put WPS AI's domestic monthly users above 80.13 million at year end, up 307 percent, against 678 million monthly active devices for WPS Office worldwide, 245 million of them outside China; earlier versions of this page called the device figure users. Overseas personal-subscription revenue grew 53.67 percent.
The product is also being re-centred. In 2025 Kingsoft launched WPS Lingxi (灵犀), a standalone office agent with slide, spreadsheet and document agents, and in July 2026 it added Lingxi Pro, which can call WPS's document engine, external tools and the user's browser to deliver editable files. The ai.wps.cn site now links straight to Lingxi.
Pricing differs by market. In China, a registered account is free with 1GB of cloud storage; WPS Super Membership costs ¥128 a year and carries no AI writing or design allowance, while WPS 大会员 at ¥268 a year bundles Super Membership with WPS AI, including 1,000 AI reading queries per 31 days. Internationally, WPS Pro+ costs US$69.99 a year and includes essential AI tools under a daily usage cap.
Two cautions. Kingsoft removed third-party advertising from the Chinese personal edition in December 2023, but the international site lists "no advertising" as a paid Pro+ benefit. And the Chinese and international products differ in features and AI allowances, so an ASEAN user on wps.com should not expect the Chinese feature list. WPS AI suits existing WPS users, students and small teams who want built-in AI without moving to Microsoft 365.
