Voicemod earned its default-app status by being simple to route into OBS, Discord or a game's voice chat, with a large library — over 200 voices — and AI voices it says are trained on licensed actor recordings. It now reaches beyond Windows to Mac, phones and, through a small adapter, consoles and Quest headsets. VoiceLab lets Pro users stack effects into a custom voice; it is an effects mixer, not a voice cloner. The free app is a taster rather than a full tool, with a limited daily rotation of voices and one soundboard, and Pro prices appear only inside the app. It is built for entertainment, not production audio, and the Mac version still misses some features. Trustpilot reviews are polarised at 1.7 out of 5, with server-connection problems a known issue, so test it before relying on it live.

Voicemod is a real-time voice changer and soundboard for gamers and streamers, built in Valencia since its founders started it in 2014. It routes your microphone through effects and AI voices — more than 200 now, by its own count — into Discord, games, OBS and streaming software, with Stream Deck and Loupedeck controls. It has grown well beyond Windows: there are macOS, iPhone and Android apps, and a VMKey Pocket adapter brings it to PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch 2 and Meta Quest. Voicemod says its AI voices use Fairly Trained-certified models built from recordings of professional actors, which is why English gives the best results, and on Snapdragon X Elite laptops they run on the chip's neural processor.
VoiceLab, often described as voice cloning, is not: it lets Pro users layer effects such as reverb, delay, vocoder and pitch shift into a custom voice. The free app gives a limited daily rotation of voices and a single soundboard; Pro unlocks the full library, unlimited soundboards and VoiceLab, sold monthly, yearly or as a lifetime licence. Voicemod no longer publishes prices on its website — its help centre says to check them inside the app — so we quote none; extra voice packs in its store are sold separately even for Pro users.
The Mac version lags. Recorder and Overlay are not available in Voicemod V3 for macOS, and Voicemod's own help articles disagree about which macOS version is required. Windows needs a 64-bit system, with an AVX2-capable processor recommended for AI voices.
Trustpilot shows a split record: 1.7 out of 5 from 456 reviews, with 55% five-star and 24% one-star, and the company replying to 60% of negative reviews. Its help centre carries a dedicated article on failures to connect to Voicemod's servers, which is the complaint to watch if you rely on it live. For casual fun the free app is enough to judge it; test Pro thoroughly before using it on stream.
