Security GPT is a set of task-specific models wired into Athena XDR rather than a general chatbot: Detection GPT for hard-to-catch attacks, Operations GPT for investigation and plain-language queries, and Anti-Phishing GPT. Sangfor's accuracy and false-positive figures are its own and deserve a pilot.
Sangfor has real regional standing, with a Singapore CSA licence for Athena MDR and a Hong Kong data centre since April 2026. But you cannot buy the AI alone or try it without a sales conversation. Worth evaluating as part of an Athena purchase, not as a standalone AI tool.
What we found
Sangfor Security GPT is the generative-AI layer inside Sangfor's Athena security operations products, not something sold on its own. Sangfor, the Shenzhen network-security and cloud vendor, first disclosed its self-developed security model in May 2023, saying it was trained on its own threat intelligence and security knowledge rather than built on an open-source model, with training data kept on Sangfor's hosted cloud.
The Security GPT page describes two versions. Detection GPT raises detection of advanced attacks such as zero-days, ransomware and fileless malware. Security Operation GPT is a virtual security analyst, split into an Assisted Operation module that answers questions in plain language and analyses data on request, and an Auto Operation module that investigates alerts on its own. The Athena XDR page, formerly Omni-Command XDR, now names three models, Detection GPT, Operations GPT and Anti-Phishing GPT, and presents them as an AI SOC agent framework.
The headline numbers are Sangfor's: 99% accuracy against advanced threats within five minutes, 90% fewer false positives once alerts are correlated into incidents, and 90% faster investigations. Sangfor's May 2023 test reported a 95.7% detection rate on bypass techniques at a 4.3% false-positive rate. None of these has been reproduced by an outside lab, so a pilot on your own traffic is the real test. A separate Sangfor result, first place on the CyberGym vulnerability benchmark in August 2026, came from an agent swarm running on DeepSeek, not from Security GPT.
For ASEAN buyers the regional footing is concrete. Athena MDR holds a Managed SOC Monitoring Licence from Singapore's Cyber Security Agency, and in April 2026 Sangfor opened a Hong Kong data centre for Athena XDR SaaS and MDR aimed at regulated sectors. Athena ships on-premises or as SaaS. There is no public price, trial account or free tier: Security GPT arrives with Athena XDR, NDR or MDR through a Sangfor sales conversation.
