Prophet Security's pitch is that AI agents can do much of a Tier-1 and Tier-2 analyst's work, pulling context from SIEM, EDR, identity, cloud and email and returning a determination with the evidence and queries attached. In 2026 it broadened into detection engineering and added Watchtower, an optional 24x7 human service for escalations.
The caution is evidence. The headline numbers (90% faster response, 96% to 98.5% fewer false positives, sub-five-minute investigations) are Prophet's own, including in a sponsored Help Net Security showcase, and pricing is quote-only. Gartner Peer Insights showed 4.9 from 10 ratings in October 2026, a small sample. Worth a pilot for alert-heavy SOCs; measure it on your own alert mix.
What we found
Prophet Security, Inc. builds an agentic AI platform for security operations centres. Its core product, the AI SOC Analyst, investigates alerts from SIEM, EDR, identity, cloud and email tools and returns a determination (benign, malicious or inconclusive) with a severity, a timeline and citations to the queries it ran. Three more products sit beside it: AI Threat Hunter for plain-language hunting; AI Detection Engineer, made generally available at Black Hat in July 2026 to find coverage gaps and propose backtested detections; and Watchtower, an optional 24x7 human service whose analysts engage within 30 minutes of a malicious or inconclusive verdict.
The Palo Alto company is led by co-founder and chief executive Kamal Shah, with Vibhav Sreekanti as chief technology officer and co-founder Grant Oviatt running product. It came out of stealth in April 2024 with an $11 million seed round led by Bain Capital Ventures, raised a $30 million Series A led by Accel in July 2025, and in February 2026 announced strategic investments of undisclosed size from Amex Ventures and Citi Ventures. Prophet sells through demos and quotes; there is no pricing page and no self-serve plan. It says it deploys single-tenant, supports bring-your-own-key, does not train models on customer data and has completed a SOC 2 Type II audit.
The performance numbers need care. Figures such as a 90% cut in mean time to respond, 96% or 98.5% fewer false positives, and investigations averaging under five minutes come from Prophet's press releases and a June 2026 Help Net Security showcase that the page itself labels sponsored. Neither cites an independent audit.
Independent user evidence is thin but positive. Gartner Peer Insights showed 4.9 from 10 ratings in October 2026, 90% of them five stars, and PeerSpot had collected no reviews. Pilot it on your own alert mix before widening its autonomy.
