Interior AI is quick and capable for what it is: upload a room, pick a style, and get a convincing restyle or a virtually staged empty room in about half a minute, with sketch-to-render, outdoor design and walkthrough videos on top. Geometry and fixtures can still drift, and the maker's own FAQ admits to artefacts, so use it for inspiration and listing photos, not renovation plans.
The commercial terms are the catch. There is no free plan, trial or refund, so the first render on your own photo costs at least $49 on monthly billing. Estate agents staging several listings a month will find Premium, at $99 monthly or $49 billed yearly, the plan that carries the staging tools; a homeowner curious about one room may find that too much.
What we found
Interior AI is a room-redesign app made by Pieter Levels, the Dutch indie developer behind Nomad List, Remote OK and Photo AI. Press coverage from October 2022 introduced it as a new tool from Pieter Levels, and the site's FAQ still describes it as built by one person on a laptop, without staff. Its terms cover Photo AI and Interior AI together and name no company behind them.
You upload a photo, pick a room type and a style, and roughly half a minute later get a redesigned render. Modes include restyling while keeping the layout, a freer interior-design mode, virtual staging of empty rooms, emptying a furnished room, and outdoor and garden design. Sketch2Image turns a hand sketch or a SketchUp screenshot into a photorealistic image. You can also copy a style from a reference photo, brush away and regenerate parts of a render, and turn renders into walkthrough videos.
The FAQ is candid about limits. Generative images carry artefacts such as chairs with too few legs, and Interior AI estimates that about 90% of renders are good enough and 10% very good. Creative modes follow the real construction of a room less closely, so treat the output as a mood board or a listing visual rather than a brief for a builder. Uploaded photos are not used for training, the FAQ says.
There is no free plan, no trial and no refunds; the FAQ blames GPU costs and asks buyers to waive the right at sign-up. Pro is $49 a month for 1,000 designs on the Flux model with low-quality renders and a commercial licence. Premium, marked most popular, is $99 for 5,000 designs with Hyper Realism, virtual staging, upscaling and furniture editing, and Ultra is $199 for 25,000 with a dedicated server. Yearly billing brings these to $29, $49 and $99 a month. Margin, compute-cost and build-time figures on earlier versions of this page could not be traced and were removed.
