Overview
Galbot (银河通用) is a Beijing embodied-AI company set up in 2023 by Peking University assistant professor 王鹤. It sells the wheeled G1 for retail and service work, the S1 heavy-duty industrial robot and, since August 2026, the ET1 humanoid, all driven by its AstraBrain models, and its lab published the GraspVLA grasping model under a non-commercial licence.

Galbot has moved from research demos to products you can order: the wheeled G1 and heavy-duty S1 run in shops, pharmacies and CATL battery plants, and the ET1 humanoid starts at a reported ¥79,000, all linked to JD.com listings. Its lab's GraspVLA work is real and inspectable, though the model is licensed for non-commercial use only.
Funding of roughly ¥7 billion and a valuation above ¥20 billion sit alongside open questions about how much revenue comes from investors that are also customers. For ASEAN buyers it is a China-sold product line with no regional distribution stated; treat it as one to evaluate directly, not off the funding headlines.
What we found
Galbot (银河通用) is a Beijing robotics company set up in 2023 by 王鹤 (Wang), a Peking University assistant professor who is also its chief technology officer; the operating company is 北京银河通用机器人股份有限公司. It builds both robots and the models that drive them, branded AstraBrain (银河星脑). The line-up has grown from one machine to three: the G1, a wheeled robot with two seven-jointed arms for shops, pharmacies and warehouses; the S1, a 320 kg industrial version that lifts up to 50 kg across both arms; and the ET1 (银河星仔), a 1.25-metre two-legged humanoid launched at the World Robot Conference in August 2026 for entertainment and greeting work.
All three can now be bought, not only quoted. Each product page links to a JD.com listing. QbitAI reported ET1 prices of ¥79,000 for the Standard version, ¥139,000 for Pro and ¥179,000 for Flagship, and press coverage puts the G1 at about ¥700,000 and the S1 at about ¥1.05 million. Galbot says its Galaxy Space Capsule (银河太空舱) robot shops operate at more than 170 sites in over 40 Chinese cities.
On research, the clearest public evidence is GraspVLA, a grasping model trained only on a billion frames of synthetic data, presented at CoRL 2025 by the founder's Peking University lab. Code and weights were released in July 2025 and the SynGrasp-1B dataset in August 2026, but under a CC BY-NC 4.0 licence that rules out commercial use; earlier versions of this page simply called it open source. Galbot's own OpenWBT and OpenTrack code is Apache-2.0.
The funding is large and disputed. Chinese business media report roughly ¥7 billion raised over six rounds and a valuation above ¥20 billion, with CATL, a China Mobile fund and the national AI industry fund among backers. In September 2026 a rival founder questioned how much revenue comes from shareholder-customers such as CATL, and Galbot said it had reported the claims to police. Talk of a Hong Kong listing has circulated since late 2025, but this review found no filing.
