Conductor cleanly solves running several coding agents on one codebase: each gets its own worktree, branch, terminal and diff, and you review and merge the results. Local use is free and reuses the Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or OpenCode access you already pay for.
Pro at $50 a month adds cloud workspaces that keep running when your laptop is closed, live collaboration, an API and an iOS app. Local agents run unsandboxed with your user permissions, cloud chats are stored on Conductor's servers, and it is macOS only.
What we found
Conductor is made by Melty Labs, a San Francisco company started in 2024 by Charlie Holtz and Jackson de Campos, which went through Y Combinator's Summer 2024 batch. It began as a Mac app that gives each coding agent its own git worktree, branch, terminal and diff, so several agents can work in one repository without colliding while you review and merge what each produces. It runs the first-party Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and OpenCode agents, signed in with your own subscriptions or API keys.
It is no longer only a free local app. Conductor Cloud launched on 30 July 2026, running workspaces in hosted sandboxes so agents keep going after you close your laptop; a public API arrived the same day and an iOS app followed on 2 October. The pricing page now lists Free at $0, Pro at $50 a month, Teams at $60 per user a month and a custom Enterprise plan. Cloud workspaces, multiplayer collaboration, the API and the mobile app need Pro or above, while local use stays free. Earlier versions of this page said it was free only.
Cursor support arrived in June 2026, OpenCode later that month and ChatGPT sign-in in September. Conductor raised a $22 million Series A in March 2026, led by Spark and Matrix, and its jobs page puts total funding at $24 million. The company claims more than 100,000 users and tenfold growth since January, its own figures.
Know the trade-offs before you start. Locally, agents run with your user account's permissions and no sandbox, which the FAQ states plainly. Cloud workspaces store chat messages on Conductor's servers, in sandboxes in a US region. The older complaint about account-wide GitHub access is out of date: fine-grained repository access arrived in July 2025. Windows and Linux are still not supported.
It suits developers who already pay for Claude Code or Codex and want to run several agents at once.
