New air conditioners clear a global-warming limit on 2013 figures

Singapore bars household air conditioners whose refrigerant exceeds a global warming potential of 750. The regulator publishes R-32 at 677, sourced to the IPCC's 2013 assessment; the current assessment says 771. The limit sits between the two, and the same thing has happened independently in the United States at a limit of 700.

The calcium formula everyone uses is not the one it cites

Corrected calcium is computed with a coefficient of 0.8 and attributed to Payne 1973 on virtually every clinical reference site. That paper's own abstract gives 1.0. The 0.8 and the metric 0.02 are the same number as each other, and both are 80.2% of what Payne published — and where 0.8 came from, we could not find out.

The Army stopped taping. The Marines did not.

Both services replaced the tape test with waist-to-height ratio in 2026 and then disagreed twice over. The Army set the line at 0.55 and rescinded every alternative, so there is nothing to appeal to. Two poison services disagree about how much chocolate your dog can eat

Britain's Veterinary Poisons Information Service answers in grams of chocolate per kilo of dog. The ASPCA and Merck line every calculator uses answers in milligrams of theobromine. Converted through USDA composition data the two rules cross each other — and the highest-theobromine thing in most kitchens is not a bar of chocolate at all.
