Yingdao is an accessible, well-funded RPA platform that makes desktop and mobile automation practical for Chinese businesses without specialist developers, with a genuinely useful free edition for individuals. It is China-focused with no English edition, its AI layer is mid-rebrand, the MCP server has gone stale and paid prices are only available from sales. A strong choice for e-commerce and back-office automation in China; less relevant to teams elsewhere.
What we found
Yingdao (影刀) is a Chinese robotic process automation platform for building software robots that handle repetitive work across desktop applications, websites, spreadsheets and Android phones. Users assemble automations visually in its Studio with a recorder, element and image libraries and triggers, or write Python and JavaScript, then run and schedule the robots on Windows, macOS and domestic Linux systems such as UOS and Kylin. It is particularly popular for e-commerce and back-office tasks, and its education programme says more than 300 Chinese universities use it. Yingdao has added large language models since May 2023; its AI features, sold as 影刀AI, are being rebuilt as an "AI WorkOS" that was listed as coming soon, with the older AI Power still available. An official MCP server exists on GitHub but has not been updated since April 2025.
The product launched on 18 February 2020 and is made by Hangzhou Fencha Intelligent Technology (杭州分叉智能科技), headquartered in Hangzhou with offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Xiamen, Nanjing and Wuhan. The company says it has raised $200 million over six rounds, including a $100 million Series C led by Goldman Sachs and Tencent in April 2022, and holds ISO 27001 and China's Level 3 security certification. It says employees at more than 30,000 companies use it, though other pages say more than 10,000. We found no international or English edition.
The Community edition is free for one user for personal and non-profit, non-commercial use, with Studio and PC and mobile automation, partial robot-runner support and monthly renewal. The Startup edition, for founders and sole traders, adds scheduling, triggers and 99 apps for one user; the Enterprise edition adds multiple users, public or private cloud, unlimited apps, central scheduling, 影刀AI and dedicated support. Neither paid price is published.
One detailed Zhihu review called it a highly cost-effective, accessible RPA tool. It suits Chinese businesses automating routine work.
