万智, sold as WorldWise, is what 01.AI became after stepping back from frontier model training and closing its developer API in September 2026: an enterprise platform for building agents, knowledge bases and workflows, deployed privately or in the cloud, aimed first at finance and insurance. It is model-agnostic — it launched around DeepSeek and also runs Qwen and 01.AI's own Yi models — which is sensible given how fast the model market moves. Do not confuse it with 万知, the free consumer assistant from 2024 that has moved to a different address. No edition has a published price, and there are no independent reviews, so treat it as a sales-led enterprise purchase and insist on a proof of concept. Worth a look for Chinese-speaking enterprises wanting private agent deployment; not a free Copilot alternative.
What we found
Two 01.AI products romanise as Wanzhi, and older descriptions, including ours, blurred them. 万知 was the free consumer assistant 01.AI launched in May 2024 to compete with Microsoft Copilot, for document reading, writing and slides. 万智, sold in English as WorldWise, is the enterprise agent platform 01.AI released in March 2025. The wanzhi.com domain now belongs to 万智; the consumer 万知 has moved to wanzhi01.com, where its chat page still loads. This entry covers 万智.
01.AI was founded in Beijing in May 2023 by Kai-Fu Lee and became a unicorn within six months on the strength of its Yi models. It has since changed course. Chinese press reported in January 2026 that it had abandoned training trillion-parameter foundation models, and on 3 September 2026 it shut its developer API platform, offering refunds until December. Its effort now goes into enterprise software: 万智 versions 2.0 and 2.5, the latter pitched as enterprise multi-agent software, and a decision-support product called TrueNorth.
万智 is a platform for building and running agents inside a company: an agent builder, knowledge bases, skills and MCP tools, workflows, publishing to multiple channels and APIs, permissions, usage metering and audit logs, deployed privately, on public cloud or as a hybrid. It is model-agnostic rather than built on Yi alone — it launched to help companies deploy DeepSeek, and supports Qwen and Yi too, with options for domestic Ascend hardware. Finance and insurance are its core markets, with government, industry, healthcare, agriculture and legal also listed, and Hong Kong's Smart Government Innovation Lab lists it as an available solution.
There are three editions — Standard, Pro and Max, the last adding model training and tuning, a high-code framework and industry-specific agents — and none has a published price; every route leads to a demo booking. 01.AI says 2025 revenue was several times 2024's. There are no independent reviews to weigh, so evaluate it as an enterprise purchase with a sales-led proof of concept.
