Suno is still the easiest way to get a complete, produced song from a sentence, and v6 adds the editing control it lacked: rewrite a chorus or one line in plain language, pull stems, combine songs. The licensing deals with Warner, BMG and Believe give it a firmer footing than a year ago.
They also narrowed what users get. Downloads are capped at 20 a month on Pro and 60 on Premier, the free tier is effectively listen-and-share only, Sony and Universal are still suing, and a 2025 data breach went undisclosed to users. Fine for hobby and content work; read the terms before building a catalogue on it.

Suno, made by Suno Inc. of Cambridge, Massachusetts, turns a text prompt into a finished song with vocals, lyrics and instrumentation. What sits underneath it changed in September 2026. On 9 September Suno released v6, three models it says were developed with Warner Music Group, BMG and Believe: v6 and the more experimental v6-wild for paying subscribers, and the faster v6-mini for everyone. Suno says every earlier model is being retired. New controls let you rewrite one section or a single lyric in plain language, combine parts of several songs, and start from an image or video.
The licensing deals came first, and they changed the terms. Warner Music Group partnered with Suno in November 2025, BMG followed in August 2026 and Believe with TuneCore in September. From 3 September 2026 downloads are capped at 20 a month on Pro and 60 on Premier, the caps cover songs made before that date, and older free accounts keep at most seven lifetime trial downloads for personal use only. Suno Studio on Premier keeps unlimited downloads. Suno also began watermarking and fingerprinting its output.
The legal record is still open. Sony Music and Universal have an unresolved copyright case against Suno in federal court in Massachusetts, and on 18 September 2026 they filed a second suit there arguing that v6 carries forward the earlier copying. On 31 July 2026 the Munich Regional Court ruled for the German collecting society GEMA over six songs; Suno said it was weighing an appeal. In July 2026 Have I Been Pwned listed a November 2025 breach covering about 55 million email addresses and some partial card records.
On Trustpilot, Suno showed 1.7 out of 5 from 187 reviews when read on 14 October 2026, with billing and support the main complaints. Pro costs $10 a month or $96 a year and Premier $30 or $288. In June 2026 Suno raised more than $400 million at a $5.4 billion valuation.
