AIP is Palantir's strongest commercial product in years: by tying language models to a governed model of the business, it lets large organisations build AI agents that act on real operational data with permissions and audit trails, and its bootcamp sales model has clearly worked, judging by Palantir's revenue growth. It is expensive, negotiated and consultative, with no public pricing, and the free Developer Tier requires identity checks. A strong fit for large enterprises and governments with complex data; overkill for small teams.
What we found
Palantir AIP, its Artificial Intelligence Platform, is the generative-AI layer of Palantir's software, launched in 2023. It connects large language models from third parties to an organisation's own data and operational systems through Palantir's Ontology, a model of the business's objects, actions and permissions, and provides a toolchain for building AI agents and automations that act inside those systems with security controls and audit trails. It sits alongside Foundry, Gotham and Apollo, Palantir's other platforms. Palantir sells AIP largely through bootcamps — short, hands-on workshops in which customers build working use cases on their own data — which it runs mostly at its own expense, and AIP Now offers a library of pre-built applications and examples. Palantir publishes customer stories such as Tampa General Hospital's work on sepsis, and impact studies with Fujitsu and with SOMPO in Japan, where it has a joint venture with SOMPO Holdings.
Palantir Technologies, now headquartered in Aventura, Florida, does not report AIP revenue separately, but its growth since AIP launched has been rapid: in the second quarter of 2026 revenue grew 93% year on year to $1.935 billion, US commercial revenue rose 149% to $764 million, and it closed 220 deals worth at least $1 million each. It guides to full-year 2026 revenue of about $8.15 billion. These are company figures.
Enterprise and government pricing is negotiated, with no public price list. Developers can try a free AIP Developer Tier with limited capacity, offered on a first-come basis to adults in supported countries; sign-up requires a phone number, a romanised identity document and a credit card for identity checks, which is not charged, and government and military email addresses are not accepted. AIP suits large organisations that want AI agents working on governed enterprise data and are prepared for a substantial, consultative engagement; the developer tier is mainly useful for learning.
