Mubert is a practical source of background music trained on licensed samples from paid contributors, and the new Full Track Editor gives Pro users real control over structure and stems. The licensing needs care: Creator is now non-commercial, monetised channels need Pro, and client, agency or app work needs the $199 Business plan, while tracks can never go to streaming services or Content ID and cannot be reused after you cancel. Mubert Studio lets musicians contribute samples and loops and get paid for them, and Mubert says its generator is trained on that proprietary sample library. There is also a music API for developers, a listening app, copyright checkers for YouTube, Twitch, Instagram Reels and TikTok, and, since September 2026, Mubert Cast, an audio-first podcast editor. The site is available in English, German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean and Portuguese.
Mubert Inc., a Delaware company dating from 2016 with an address in San Francisco, keeps ownership of generated tracks and licenses them to subscribers. The licence covers sync use in videos, podcasts, apps and games, but tracks cannot be registered with Content ID or released on streaming services, and once a subscription ends earlier tracks cannot be used in new projects, though already-published content stays licensed. Mubert warns that false-positive copyright claims can still occur.
The free Ambassador plan allows 25 generations and five MP3 downloads a month, with an audible watermark and required attribution, for non-commercial use. Creator costs $14 a month, or $11.69 billed annually, for 500 generations and WAV downloads, but it is non-commercial, covering personal and promoted posts only. Pro, at $39 or $32.49 annually, adds monetised channels, digital ads and the track editor. Business, at $199 or $149.29 annually, is needed for client, agency, app and game work and for sublicensing. API plans start at $49 a month.
