Lovable Cloud (launched September 2025) is the built-in backend layer for Lovable apps, providing database, authentication, file storage, and integration plumbing on a Supabase foundation without any external dashboards or manual setup. It meaningfully closes the gap between AI-generated prototypes and functional full-stack apps, with row-level security and auth handled for you.
It suits Lovable users who want login, data persistence, and uploads without wiring up infrastructure themselves. Caveats: it is tied to the Lovable ecosystem rather than a standalone backend, usage-based billing (free up to a monthly cap) can grow with traffic, and because it abstracts Supabase you have less direct control than configuring Supabase yourself. Verified against Lovable's own announcement and docs. As a managed add-on it has limited standalone API surface.
