HeyGen is the established choice for avatar-presented training, sales and marketing video: Avatar V digital twins from a short recording, lip-synced translation in 175-plus languages, SCORM and LMS output on Business, and a pay-as-you-go API priced per minute. The free plan is enough to judge the output.
The catch is the credit meter. Plans are sold in credits, and the pricing page does not say how many a minute of web-app video costs, so run a real project before buying an annual plan. Credits on monthly plans roll over only once and vanish on cancellation. Use your own likeness, or someone else's, only with consent and disclosure.

HeyGen Technology, Inc. is based in Los Angeles; the company started in 2020 under the name Surreal before becoming HeyGen.
The business has grown quickly. In a June 2026 press release HeyGen said it had passed $200 million in annual recurring revenue, double the figure of eight months earlier, with more than 30 million users. Those are company figures, not audited accounts. Its last disclosed equity round was $60 million in June 2024, led by Benchmark at a reported $500 million valuation.
Pricing runs on credits. The free plan allows three videos a month of up to a minute each. Creator costs $29 a month, or $24 a month billed annually, for 600 credits; Pro starts at $49 (or $41 annually) for 1,000 credits and 4K export; Business is $149 (or $119 annually) plus $20 per extra seat, adding SSO, SCORM export and LMS integrations. The pricing page does not say how many credits a minute of web-app video uses, so check the meter before committing. Monthly credits roll over for one extra month and are lost on cancellation.
Developers can buy pay-as-you-go API credits with no plan: Avatar V video costs $7.20 a minute and older Avatar III video from $0.60. HeyGen has also open-sourced HyperFrames, an Apache-2.0 tool for rendering HTML into video.
