Bolna is a platform for building AI voice agents that make and answer phone calls, aimed mainly at Indian businesses. Teams build agents in its Agent Studio, choosing speech-to-text, language-model and text-to-speech providers or bringing their own keys, and connect them to telephony from Exotel, Plivo, Twilio and Vobiz or over SIP with carriers such as Airtel. Bolna says its agents speak more than ten Indian languages including Hinglish, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, respond in under 300 milliseconds and can keep data in India or the US or deploy on-premises. Typical uses are recruitment screening, lead qualification, payment collection and customer support; its case studies cite Awign, GoKwik and Hypothesis. An open-source framework under the MIT licence is actively maintained and forms the backbone of the service, though the hosted APIs and dashboard are closed source.
Bolna was founded by Maitreya Wagh, its chief executive, and Prateek Sachan in Bengaluru, and joined Y Combinator's fall 2025 batch after, TechCrunch reported, five rejected applications. In January 2026 it raised a $6.3 million seed round led by General Catalyst, with YC and Blume Ventures, and said it handled more than 200,000 calls a day, was nearing $700,000 in annual recurring revenue and earned three-quarters of it from self-serve customers. Its terms name Voxlabs Private Limited as the operator, while its privacy policy names Whismurwave Inc.
Pricing is pay-as-you-go: credits from $10 to $5,000 at 6 cents a minute, with bonuses on larger packs bringing the rate down to about 4.5 cents, and new accounts get $5 of trial credit. A Pilot plan costs $500 for 12,000 minutes or $300 for 6,500, with up to 25 concurrent calls, WhatsApp support and weekly calls with a contact person, before reverting to standard rates. Enterprise pricing is negotiated.
