Dujia AI is a capable workflow for Chinese talking-head and explainer creators: scheduled AI staff that propose topics from trending news and draft scripts, script-to-video with found footage, and an editor that strips pauses and filler words and adds subtitles. Digital-human presenters and voiceover remove the need to appear on camera.
It is free to start, with credits sold in-app from ¥1 for 10, though Baidu does not say which features consume them. Chinese-first, with no documented API, so it is a tool for domestic creators rather than regional teams.
What we found
Baidu's DuCut has changed names twice. It launched on Apple's App Store in May 2021 as 度咔, a tool for 口播 (talking-head) creators, and reviews from that week mention hearing about it at Baidu's 万象 conference. It was later renamed 度加剪辑, and the App Store listing and the ducut.baidu.com homepage now call it 度加AI, an official Baidu creation agent. The developer of record is Beijing Baidu Netcom Science & Technology, Baidu's main operating company.
The pitch has moved from editing to delegation. Baidu describes a one-person creation company: a team of AI staff, with a director that assigns tasks, a topic planner, a scriptwriter, an editor, an illustrator and a data analyst, directed by chat or voice. Tasks can be scheduled so the agents pick topics from Baidu's trending news and produce videos or image posts on a timer, and a data centre reviews how published work performed. Underneath sit the earlier tools: AI成片 builds a video from a script with found footage, AI快剪 removes pauses, repeated sentences and filler words and adds subtitles, and there are digital-human presenters, text-to-speech voiceover, AI images, note-style graphics, one-tap vlogs and effects templates. Baidu says it runs on its own models and computing.
Earlier versions of this page said no pricing existed. The app is free to download, and on China's App Store, read on 14 October 2026, it sells 度加积分 credits from ¥1 for 10 to ¥268 for 2,680. No subscription plan is listed there, and Baidu does not say which features draw on credits; the listing describes the digital human and voiceover as free.
The same day the China App Store showed 4.6 stars from 3,189 ratings. Visible reviews from 2022 and 2023 complained of stutter compared with ByteDance's 剪映, lost progress after crashes and a removed beauty filter. The interface is Chinese-first and no public API is documented, so it suits Chinese-language creators rather than regional teams.
