Its pricing has been rebuilt twice in 2026 and now looks unusual — $20 or $100 a month flat for up to 50 seats, with usage billed at model list price plus a 40% fee — which is cheap for a small team that uses it lightly and unpredictable for one running agents all day. There is no free plan any more, and the CLI is proprietary. The company is well funded and now pitching Cosmos, an always-on agent platform. Worth evaluating for teams with big codebases; set usage alerts from the start.

Augment Code is an AI coding platform built around its Context Engine, which indexes large codebases so agents can work with the whole system in view. It offers a coding agent, chat, code review, the Auggie command-line tool, MCP and native tool support, and model routing called Prism, which it says costs 20% to 30% less on average. In 2026 it repositioned around Cosmos, which it describes as a platform for building an always-on software delivery system, with agents running on Augment's compute in a daemon mode and many sessions at once. Earlier in the year it retired its Next Edit and inline completion features on its older individual plans. Its customer stories include WEX, GoFundMe, Intercom and Pearl Technologies.
Augment Computing, Inc. is based in Palo Alto. In April 2024 it raised a $227 million Series B at a $977 million valuation, bringing its total to $252 million, from investors including Sutter Hill, Index, Innovation Endeavors, Lightspeed and Meritech; Igor Ostrovsky and Guy Gur-Ari are co-founders.
Pricing has changed twice since June. Augment replaced its Indie, Standard and Max per-developer plans with a single Business plan in June 2026, then added a cheaper plan in September. Standard now costs $20 a month flat and Business $100 a month flat, with no per-seat charge for up to 50 seats; each includes that amount of usage, and further usage is billed in dollars, with model calls at the provider's list price plus a 40% fee and Cosmos compute at $0.19 an hour. Top-ups last 12 months. Enterprise adds SSO and SCIM, customer-managed keys, ISO 42001, multi-region compute and unlimited users. Both plans include SOC 2 Type II and no training on customer code. There is no free plan, the open-source programme page now redirects to the homepage, and the Auggie CLI is proprietary rather than open source.
Because cost depends on how much agents run, watch the usage analytics closely in the first months.
