Annual Fortune (流年运势) — Year-Level Bazi Analysis
Annual fortune (流年运势) is the year-level analysis method in Chinese metaphysics. Each year has its own year pillar (流年干支) — starting from Spring Begins (立春, ~Feb 4) — which interacts with the individual's birth bazi to define that year's energy.
What is Tai Sui?
Tai Sui (太岁) is a Daoist concept — the "Year God" who rules that year. There are 60 Tai Sui Generals; each year, one of them "presides" over human affairs. When your zodiac is the same (zodiac year), clashes (冲太岁), harms (害太岁), or is punished by (刑太岁) the year's zodiac, traditional caution applies.
Limitations of this tool
(1) Based on bazi basics only — does not incorporate major luck cycles (大运) which are 10-year periods; (2) computes zodiac-vs-Tai-Sui relationship + 5-element interaction only, no useful god (用神) depth; (3) not a substitute for professional bazi consultation. Full analysis requires 4 layers: major luck + annual luck + monthly luck + personal favorables.

Frequently Asked Questions
立春 (Spring Begins, ~Feb 4) — neither Jan 1 nor Lunar NY. This is the traditional metaphysics standard. E.g. 2026 立春 = Feb 4 at 04:46.
Traditional remedies: (1) wear red; (2) "Bai Tai Sui" at a Daoist temple after 立春; (3) avoid major decisions (marriage, home purchase, resignation); (4) do good deeds. Modern interpretation: a psychological prompt for "year of reflection + careful decisions" — no inherent magical power.
The bazi/Tai Sui calculations are accurate (powered by lunar-javascript, MIT licensed). But the "interaction analysis" uses only 2 layers (zodiac relationship + 5-element). Full bazi requires 4 layers: major luck cycle + useful god + monthly luck + personal favorables.
Western astrology uses planetary positions + sun/moon signs for yearly forecasts. Chinese bazi uses the GanZhi calendar + 5 Elements + your bazi-to-year interactions. The philosophies differ — Western is individual-centric (your chart), Chinese is relational (your interaction with the Year God).
