It is where Project Mariner went: Google shut that experiment down on 4 May 2026 and moved its browsing capability here and into Chrome's auto-browse. Availability is limited to the United States, in English.

It is US-only and English-only, while the subscription that includes it sells in over 150 countries, which makes it easy to pay and then discover the feature is not for you. No public API either: this is a tool a person drives, not one a product calls. For browser automation you can build on, Browserbase or Operator remain the answer.

Anyone who followed Mariner is not losing a tool so much as being handed the productised version of it.

It arrives bundled rather than sold separately: it is part of Google AI Pro at $19.99 a month, with Ultra at $99.99 and $199.99 buying substantially higher ceilings rather than different features. For anyone already paying for Gemini, the marginal cost of trying it is nothing, which is a real advantage over adopting a standalone agent product.
The caveat is large enough to lead with, and this entry does. Gemini Agent is available in the United States, in English. For a reader in Singapore, Jakarta or Manila the honest answer today is that this is not a tool you can evaluate, however good it is — and the Google AI subscription that nominally includes it sells in over 150 countries, which makes the gap easy to miss until you have paid.
There is also no public API, so this is a thing a person uses, not a thing a system calls. Teams wanting browser automation inside a product should be looking at Browserbase or Operator instead. Worth watching; not yet worth planning around outside the US.
